„I work close to the Russian center of power and Putin is my neighbor”

“From my office I can see the Duma, the seat of the Russian Parliament. A bit more to the right there is the exclusive 5 star Ritz-Carlton hotel. Right behind the Duma, 200 meters from my office, is the Red Square and the Kremlin. So, I am working close to the central place where all decisions for Russia are made,” says Pawel Netreba. The Russian, though growing up in Germany, is working as a Management Consultant at the Moscow office of Booz & Company. “In my job I constantly get together with new clients, new fields of industry, new project teams and new topics. As Moscow is the capital and the core of all activities, I usually do not travel but work on projects at the clients’ sites in their Moscow headquarters.” The 29-year old goes on: “In projects where we need to dramatically restructure client’s businesses, we are dependent on the acceptance and trust of various stakeholders. We therefore need to be very good communicators and trusted advisors.”

Thinking of HHL, Pawel Netreba says: “HHL assisted me in getting my dream job. I always wanted to become a consultant. The Leipzig business school helped me to approach problems and tasks in a structured and logical way, critically analyze and do sanity checks to test common business sense. The appropriate mix between fundamental knowledge acquisition in form of lectures and paper writing and practical application in form of case studies and presentations enabled me to acquire knowledge and apply it at the same time to real world situations. I confidently can say that HHL prepared me very well for this position. HHL had a great stake in getting me into management consulting! “
