Best financial communication: Merck crowned Investors’ Darling 2017 by HHL and manager magazin

As investors’ demands regarding financial communication’s usefulness have steadily increased over recent years, listed companies follow different strategies with different effort. This year, the Investors’ Darling competition, which was first conducted in 2014 by HHL and manager magazin, has again analyzed and ranked the quality of the financial communication of Germany’s 160 largest listed companies (DAX, MDAX, SDAX, TecDAX). With a team of 25 analysts and based on his RIC model, Professor Zülch has assessed the communication quality in reporting (R), in investor relations (I) and the capital markets’ reaction to financial information (C).

This year Merck has won the title Investors’ Darling 2017. It was by a clear margin that Merck has performed better than second- and third-placed Fresenius and Continental. Before the results published in manager magazin’s October issue, a jury comprising several renowned experts from investor relations, asset management, and corporate governance has also reviewed and confirmed the analyses’ outcomes. More insights from the collected data are soon to be published in various magazines and journals.
