On September 8, 2015, the futureTEX Basis Project Mass Customization was officially launched at the kick-off meeting at HHL Leipzig Graduate School of Management.
The 18-month Basis Project Mass Customization (MC) seeks to close the research gap regarding mass customization on business markets. The focus is on the growth market technical textiles. The goal is to investigate the key elements of introducing MC on B2B-markets for complex products, considering MC-based business models, the strategic development of MC-related competences, and technological prerequisites of MC. The textile industry as well as companies from other sectors benefit from these findings. Thereby, the project supports the development of small and medium-sized textile enterprises in Eastern Germany towards sustainable and customer-centered value networks.
The project consortium consists of the Center for Leading Innovation & Cooperation (CLIC, coordinator) at HHL Leipzig Graduate School of Management, the Fraunhofer Institute for Industrial Mathematics ITWM, Sächsisches Textilforschungsinstitut e.V., Institute of Textile Machinery and High Performance Material Technology at TU Dresden University, SACHSEN!TEXTIL e.V. and Strumpfwerk Lindner GmbH. The project will be accompanied by the Forschungszentrum Jülich GmbH as responsible project management organization.
