Keep calm and SMILE on: HHL continues start-up support as partner of the Self-Management Initiative Leipzig
HHL will continue its cooperation with the University of Leipzig, the Helmholtz Centre for Environmental Research (UFZ) and DBFZ German Biomass Research Center within the Self-Management Initiative Leipzig (SMILE). SMILE supports students, alumni and research associates who want to realize an own business idea. Potential founders can extend their business skills, challenge their own ideas and build valuable business contacts to industry and business experts as well as fellow founders in over 120 seminars, workshops and events offered each year. The topics of the workshops range from marketing basics to trade fairs for founders and from crowdfunding to project management. SMILE also offers one-on-one coaching sessions where the participants can get specific feedback and turn their ideas into viable business models.
Since its initiation in 2006, SMILE has successfully supported over 420 start-ups and founders and counted over 7.500 participants at its different events. Thanks to the funding by the European Social Fund, the State of Saxony and the project partners, SMILE can continue its services for the next three years.
All offerings are for free. The only requirement is that you have your main or secondary residence in Saxony. Unfortunately, if not stated otherwise, all seminars and workshops are held in German. Nevertheless, if you have a group of 4 people interested in a seminar, we can ask the lecturer to arrange the seminar in English at another date. Coaching is possible in English and German.
In case you have any questions, feel free to contact Simone Haubner.
