If one looks at the elapsed Bundesliga season, then big disappointment is spreading. Internationally, the German clubs are far below expectations. Again there was no final with German participation. Boredom rules: Bayern hunts from one championship title to the next, without pleasure. The only bright spot is Eintracht Frankfurt. One must therefore seriously ask the question: where will the Bundesliga develop in the next few years – especially in comparison to the other European top leagues? Is there such a thing as predictability in the fast-paced daily business of professional football? Henning Zülch holds the Chair of Accounting and Auditing at the HHL Leipzig Graduate School of Management.
