German Chancellor Fellow Joins Schumpeter Junior Professorship at HHL

Mr. Varun Kashyap (photo), an Alexander Von Humboldt and German Chancellor Fellow, joins the Schumpeter Junior Professorship for Entrepreneurship and Technology Transfer in November 2014. As part of the fellowship, Varun is spending one year in Germany to conduct research on his project titled – “Safeguard the Interest of Family stores – Role of Logistics and Technology in Retail Business Models and the path to Inclusivity and Sustainability”.

Varun is a social entrepreneur with a keen interest in using technology to reach the community at large and help drive change. He is the co-founder and chief spokesman for LetsEndorse (http://www.letsendorse.com/), a crowd-endorsing platform that engages NGOs, Businesses, Citizens as well as Governments to make change happen. Varun is a Young India Fellow, a multi-disciplinary leadership development programme by Ashoka University in partnership with the University of Pennsylvania, Carleton College and Sciences Po. Prior to this, he founded Suvidha Bazaar in 2010, a supply chain initiative for fresh farm produce benefitting both farmers and end consumers. He was also nominated as a Global Shaper by the World Economic Forum. He is a sports enthusiast and was the Captain of the university football and athletics team.
