Competitive Review Prize Awarded to Macroeconomics Experts of HHL

Congrats! Patrick Möbius and Prof. Althammer from the Sparkassen-Finanzgruppe Chair of Macroeconomics at HHL were awarded the Competitive Review Prize for the best research paper presented at the MoC Research Workshop held in December 2017 at Harvard Business School in Boston, Massachusetts.

The Microeconomics of Competitiveness (MoC) Workshop is organized once a year by Michael Porter and his Institute for Strategy and Competitiveness. Leading researchers come together to share new insights and to discuss recent trends on the issue of competitiveness and cluster development.
At the research session, Prof. Althammer presented a research paper on the topic of sustainable competitiveness. The paper provides a novel composite index of sustainable competitiveness for European NUTS-2 regions and thereby reveals important insights for policymakers into the sustainable competitiveness trajectory of European regions.

Christian Ketels, Principal Associate at the Institute for Strategy and Competitiveness, presents Prof. Althammer with the award

At the beginning of 2018, Prof. Althammer together with Prof. Kirchgeorg from the SVI-Endowed Chair of Marketing Management, esp. E-Commerce and Cross-Media Management, will be holding the elective course “Microeconomics of Competitiveness” in HHL’s M.Sc. program.

The research was published in the HHL Working Paper series.
